Of gods and men…
To the Fairest is a one act musical summary of what lead up to the mythical Trojan War.
This show is based on the myth of The Golden Apple of Discord, as well as a sprinkling of The Iliad.
The interesting connection we made when initially brainstorming for this project was that the wedding that the Golden Apple was thrown into was actually the wedding of legendary war hero, Achilles’, parents: mortal king Peleus, and river goddess Thetis!
Using this as framing for the work, Achilles became our narrator, looking back from his death to see what happened to make his life just so epic.
